NCPD: Elmont Woman Broke Into Home, Assaulted And Robbed Victim Over Social Media Post

Elmont, NY - Sept. 12, 2018 - The Fifth Squad reports the details of an arrest for Burglary made on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 8:05 a.m. in Elmont.
 
According to detectives, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at about 1:30 p.m., defendant Niaomi Russell, 24, of Elmont went to a residence on Parkhurst Road to confront an acquaintance about a negative social media post. After being denied entry at the front door by a resident the defendant entered the residence through an open rear window. 
 
After entering the residence, the defendant found the female victim, 18, hiding in a bathroom. The defendant forced her way into the bathroom and began punching and kicking the victim causing bruising and substantial pain to the victim’s right shoulder. The defendant then removed belongings from the victim’s pocketbook which was located in another room and fled the scene on foot. After an investigation, the defendant was taken into custody without further incident on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 8:05 a.m. at the Fifth Precinct.
 
Defendant Niaomi Russell is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Assault 3rd Degree. She will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
