Queens Man Arrested, Responsible for Overdose of Nassau County Resident, Police Say

Levittown, NY - September 12, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Queens man on Monday, September 11, 2017 in Levittown at 7:30 pm.
 
According to Narcotics Vice Squad detectives, an investigation involving the defendant Arturo Gutierrez, 34, of Astoria was conducted for being responsible for an overdose to a Nassau County resident. Gutierrez, as the driver of a 2017 Nissan arrived on Hamlet Road and was found to be in possession of heroin. Arturo Gutierrez was placed into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
 
Arturo Gutierrez is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
