Holbrook Man Attempted To Sell Stolen Dirt Bike Via Facebook, SCPD Reports

Thomas Geiger, 18, was allegedly offering a 2011 Kawasaki for sale that was originally stolen from a Smithtown man, officials report.

SCPD have arrested Thomas Geiger of Holbrook, 18, for attempting to sell a stolen dirt bike on Facebook on Monday, September 11.

Holbrook, NY - September 12, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Holbrook, New York, man for attempting to sell a stolen dirt bike on Facebook Monday, September 11, 2017.
 
A Smithtown, New York, man reported his 2011 Kawasaki dirt bike was stolen from his residence on August 29 and Fourth Squad detectives investigated. The victim advised detectives that the dirt bike was offered for sale on Facebook by Thomas Geiger. The victim met with Geiger near his residence, while detectives were in the area on September 11 at approximately 1 p.m.
 
Geiger, 18, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and Making an Apparently Sworn False Statement. He was scheduled for arraignment at First District Central Islip today.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
