Uniondale School District Launches 2016-2017 School Year

Uniondale, NY - September 8, 2016 - The Uniondale School District recently opened its doors to officially begin the 2016-2017 academic year. Students at Uniondale High School, Lawrence Road Middle School, Turtle Hook Middle School, Walnut Street Elementary School, Smith Street Elementary School, Northern Parkway Elementary School, Grand Avenue Elementary School, California Avenue Elementary School and Uniondale’s Prekindergarten kicked off the year with a variety of educational games and activities to engage students in learning. Uniondale School District Superintendent Dr. William K. Lloyd, building principals, teachers and staff welcomed the District’s more than six thousand students to celebrate the start of an exciting school year.

“Several schools in our District have been recognized as National Schools of Character, and we are excited to provide a host of new academic opportunities in the 2016-2017 school year so our students have the resources excel in the classroom and in the community,” said Uniondale School District Superintendent Dr. William K. Lloyd. “We will continue to expand our educational programs and offer a rigorous academic environment to support our students’ success.”
