Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Brentwood Motor Vehicle Crash, Officials Report

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Brentwood.
 
Concepcion Zavala was crossing Washington Avenue eastbound when he was struck by a 2006 Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Heyward Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. Zavala, 52, of Brentwood, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.
 
The driver of the Nissan, Patricia Ramirez, 45, of 6 Merion Road, Brentwood, was not injured.
 
The Nissan was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
