NCPD Arrest Holbrook Man for DWI

Plainview, NY - September 10, 2014 - Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Holbrook man for Driving While Intoxicated on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:14 P.M. in Plainview.
 
According to police, Nicholas Ortiz, 46, of Geery Avenue was driving eastbound on the Long Island Expressway in Plainview when he was observed weaving in and out of his lane by a Highway Patrol Officer.  He was pulled over and an investigation found him to be under the influence of alcohol.  His nine year old son was a passenger sitting in the back seat of the car.  Ortiz was placed under arrest without incident and the child was released from the scene to a family member.
 
Ortiz is charged with Aggravating Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated (.08% or more alcohol in blood) and VTL violations.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
