Woman Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash in East Northport

East Northport, NY - September 8th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a single-car crash that killed an East Northport woman today.

Barbara Dedicke was driving a 2005 Honda southbound on Elwood Road when, for an unknown reason, her vehicle left the lane of travel, struck a parked car and then struck a utility pole just north of Clay Pitts Road at approximately 3:30 p.m.   Dedicke, 78, of 6th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office.   There were no passengers in her vehicle and no other persons were injured in the crash.

The Honda was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.   Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call the Second Squad at (631) 854-8252.
