Hempstead Sports Store Robbed at Knifepoint, According to Authorities

Third Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery and larceny that occurred in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a male subject entered BK Sports Land, 89 Main Street, approached the store owner at the counter displaying a large kitchen knife and demanded money. The owner came from behind the counter and chased the subject who ran out of the store and fled on the sidewalk on Main Street. While running away, the subject observed another pedestrian with money in his hand and grabbed $20 from him. No injuries were reported.
 
The subject was described as wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a dark baseball hat and white Adidas sneakers.
