Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man in Brentwood.

 

Anthony Ayala was operating a 2018 KTM dirt bike southbound on Wicks Road when he collided with a 2016 Jeep Renegade which was travelling northbound on Crooked Hill Road. Ayala, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the dirt bike and sustained numerous injuries.

 

Ayala, 19, of Brentwood, was transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep, Rafael Cardenas-Jiminez, 52, of Central Islip was not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
