NCPD: Arrest Made for Baldwin Shooting Over Labor Day Weekend

Update - September 8, 2015 - Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of Nathan Barnwell, 45, of  Baldwin, in connection with the above incident which caused the death of the victim, Winfield Gillespie, 39, from Pennsylvania.

Barnwell is charged with Manslaughter 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (loaded firearm), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree (loaded firearm outside home) and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 09/08/2015.

Baldwin, NY - September 5, 2015 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a homicide that occurred on Saturday, September 05, 2015 at 12:50 a.m. in Baldwin.

According to detectives, First Precinct officers responded to a Woodoak Drive home for a shots fire call and discovered a male victim with a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 5:25 a.m. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
