Written by Stella Miller  |  09. September 2014

Huntington, NY - September 9, 2014 - Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon will be holding its annual birdseed sale fundraiser on November 8, 2014 at the Huntington High School. This seed sale is a unique opportunity to stock up on birdseed for the winter while supporting a local conservation organization. Order forms can be downloaded from the chapter’s website. Please note that  checks must be received by October 20, 2014.

Proceeds from this fund raiser benefit Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society’s conservation, environmental education, and youth programs.  "Feeding birds in winter, while not necessary, can provide them with an edge during severe weather. Furthermore, observing the antics of our feathered friends at the feeders can provide hours of delight", says Stella Miller, HOBAS president. She continues, “Purchasing birdseed from Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon is a wonderful way of supporting local conservation efforts while providing extra energy and nutrition for your feathered friends, a rewarding experience for both humans and birds alike.”

Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society is a chapter of the National Audubon Society, serving over 1,000 members in Huntington and Northern Oyster Bay Townships.  The organization works to protect wildlife and its habitat through conservation action, advocacy, education and responsible recreation.
