Maryland Couple Caught with Switchblades, Firearm During Long Beach Vehicle Stop

Fourth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a man and a woman from Maryland for an incident that occurred on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 2:50 AM in North Long Beach.
 
According to Detectives, officers while on patrol, observed a black Toyota Corolla with Maryland license plates commit multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Officers activated their emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle pulled over in a nearby parking lot. 
 
During the investigation officers located two switchblade knives and a Hi-Point 9-millimeter firearm. Defendants Janeal Turner, 29, of 11514 North Star Drive, Fort Washington and Janelle Terry, 27, of 4301 23rd Parkway, Apt. 1107, Temple Hills were placed under arrest without further incident.
 
 
Defendants Janeal Turner and Janelle Terry are charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. They will be arraigned on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
