Motorcyclist Killed in East Farmingdale Crash

Farmingdale, NY - September 6, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man in East Farmingdale early this morning.

James Barnett, 18, was making a left turn from Central Avenue onto southbound New Highway when he lost control of a 2006 Honda motorcycle that struck a metal light signal support pole at approximately 2:40 a.m.

Barnett, of Howells Road, Bay Shore, sustained a serious head injury and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage where he was later pronounced dead.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who has information about the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
