LOVE, GILDA director, Lisa D’Apolito, on Tom Needham’s The Sounds of Film

Stony Brook, NY - Sept. 5, 2018 - ‘LOVE, GILDA’ director, Lisa D’Apolito, is Tom Needham’s featured guest this Thursday at 6 pm EST on WUSB’s the ‘Sounds of Film.’ 
 
‘LOVE, GILDA’ is a remarkable documentary about Saturday Night Live’s first female star, Gilda Radner. The film uses rare personal recordings and journal entries to tell Radner’s unique story in her own words. The documentary features insights from Chevy Chase, Paul Shaffer, Martin Short, Amy Poehler, Cecile Strong, Lorne Michaels, and many others. ‘LOVE, GILDA’ reflects on Gilda Radner’s trailblazing comedy, and focuses on her continuing cultural impact.
 
Director, Lisa D'Apolito grew up in Greenwich Village, NY. Her award-winning short film, ‘The Gynotician’ starred Amber Tamblyn and David Cross. Her film, ‘LOVE, GILDNA’ was recently featured at the Tribeca Film Festival.
 
‘Love, Gilda’ producers, Bronwyn Berry and Carolyn Hepburn, will be joining Tom Needham for a screening of the documentary and a Q & A on Monday, September 17th at 7:00 pm at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson as part of the Port Jefferson Documentary Series.  The film is being presented in collaboration with the Long Island Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.  For more information, visit www.portjeffdocumentaryseries.com.
