NCPD: Man Died After Being Thrown Off Horse at Belmont Race Track

Elmont, NY - September 5, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the details of a Serious Aided that occurred on Friday, September 05, 2014 at approximately 8:00 am in Elmont.
According to detectives, a 39 year old male trainer at Belmont Race Track, 2150 Hempstead Turnpike was exercising a horse on the track when he was thrown to the ground.  The victim was transported to a local hospital in a private ambulance before police arrival and was pronounced deceased at 8:50 am by hospital staff. 
Identification of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
