New York Commercial Bank in Deer Park Robbed

Deer Park, NY - September 5th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Department detectives are investigating an armed bank robbery that occurred today at the New York Commercial Bank in Deer Park.

A man entered the bank, located at 720 Grand Blvd., at approximately 1:15 p.m., approached a teller, displayed a handgun and passed a note to the employee demanding cash.  The teller complied with the robbers demands and the suspect fled on foot.  He was last seen running southeast through the bank parking lot.
 
The suspect is described as a white male, 40-55 years old, with a slim build. He was unshaven, wearing a baseball hat, a gray long sleeved shirt under a blue t-shirt with graphics, light blue denim pants and glasses.
 
Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the vicinity of the bank robbery, witnessed the incident, or has any information related to this robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will remain confidential.
