Hicksville Man Arrested for Forging Prescriptions for Narcotics

Hicksville, NY - September 4th, 2014 - The Narcotics/Vice Bureau reports the arrest of a Hicksville man for Possession of a Forged Instrument that occurred on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 4:40 p.m. in Hicksville.

According to detectives, between June 19, 2014 and July 13, 2014 the defendant Adeel Riaz, 28 of Lenox Avenue contacted multiple Rite Aid Pharmacy’s throughout Nassau County posing as a doctor in order to have forged prescriptions of Oxycodone and Meloxicam filled. After a subsequent investigation, Bureau of Special Operations Officers located Riaz on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 operating a 2002 Toyota in front of his home and placed him under arrest without incident. The defendant was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and in violation of a court order to operate vehicles with Interlock Device systems.

Riaz is charged three counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, eleven counts of Falsifying Business Records 1st degree, eleven counts of Criminal Impersonation 1st degree, three counts of Identity Theft 2nd degree, one count of Circumventing Interlock System, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday September 4, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
