Hempstead Eoc Soccer Club Kicks Off Its Fall Season

The Hempstead EOC Soccer Club will kick off its Fall Season with the Long Island Junior Soccer League at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Lincoln Park in Hempstead, NY.

Hempstead, NY - September 4th, 2013 - The Hempstead EOC Soccer Club will kick off its Fall Season with the Long Island Junior Soccer League at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Lincoln Park in Hempstead, NY.

The game schedule for the day includes:

  • Hempstead EOC Tigers vs. Levittown Hawks at 9:00 a.m.
  • Hempstead EOC Wolves vs. Hicksville Storm at10:10 am

According to Oscar Barriga, President, Hempstead EOC Soccer Club “the program is more than a recreational program, it is also a preventative program. The underlying purpose of the program is about saving lives by keeping youth out of harm’s way – gangs, drugs, alcohol, etc.  The program promotes personal growth and development by providing a wide range of services and opportunities to youth. It combines the sport of soccer with the vision that participants continue their education to their highest level possible, either college or vocational school.”

This marks the 22nd year the Hempstead EOC Soccer Club has held membership in the Long Island Junior Soccer League and has earned numerous championships. Club teams have competed twice in the Disney Cup International Youth Soccer Tournament, placing 3rd place each time. The Club has also won numerous championships, including but not limited to: Division I Long Island Junior Soccer League Division Titles, TACA Airlines Youth Soccer Tournament, NY State Cup, Waldbaum’s Cup, Long Island Cup, Eastern New York State Youth Soccer Association, Queens College Tournament, Jetix Cup Tournament and other Premiere tournaments.

The EOC Soccer Program has a variety of intramural, competitive and summer programs open to   boys and girls, 6 – 19 years of age, who reside in the Incorporated Village of Hempstead.  This year, over 176 youth participated in the program.
