PA Man Arrested in Nassau for Grand Larceny, Investment Scam

North Long Beach, NY - September 3rd, 2014 - The Crimes Against Property Squad reports the details of an arrest for Grand Larceny that occurred on August 28, 2013 in North Long Beach.

According to detectives, the defendant Ketan Patel, 38, of Douglas Drive, State College, Pa. did meet with the 41 year old victim over an investment opportunity posted on Craigslist by the defendant.  The defendant was looking for investors interested in flipping houses in Florida.  The victim sent the defendant a cashier’s check for forty-five thousand dollars and when Patel failed to respond to the victim’s attempts to contact him over a four month period, the victim notified police.The defendant was arrested on September 2, 2014 at NYC Probation, John Street, New York, N.Y. without incident.

Ketan Patel was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd and was arraigned on September 2, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
