Man Wanted for Stealing Purse from Roosevelt Teen

Roosevelt, NY - September 3rd, 2014 - The First Squad reports the details of a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at 6:45 p.m. in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, the female victim, 16 years of age, was walking westbound on Elmwood Avenue when a male Hispanic, 18-20 years old, heavy set, short ponytail, wearing a red bandana grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground. The subject was holding a wooden bat over the victim’s head as he pulled her handbag from her shoulder. The subject entered the rear of a black SUV which fled eastbound on Elmwood Avenue. The victim suffered a laceration to her elbow.
