Hicksville, NY –September 3, 2013 –The artwork of Debra Ann Kasimakis will be on display in the Community Room of the Hicksville Library located at 169 Jerusalem Ave  Hicksville, NY 11801 – 516-931-1417. The exhibit includes the newest images to come from the studio as well as selected images from “Petscapes”, a book about love, art and poetry and a tribute to one of her own pets. This book means to shine a light. “Petscapes” was started as a way to combine photography, art and words, but, it has become much more. It has become a tribute to a pet that has passed and a spot light on the plight of family pets, homeless pets and pets in need on Long Island.

You can see Debra Ann’s art during normal library hours at 9AM – 9PM Mon – Thursday, 9AM – 5PM Friday & Saturday & Sunday 1PM – 5PM - The artwork is available for purchase. You may purchase or order a book by emailing the author. A portion of the proceeds of the book will benefit RSVP Animal Welfare & Rescue Group here on Long Island. The Rotational Art Exhibit Program offers area artists and crafts people an opportunity to display their work in libraries, banks and businesses throughout the Town of Oyster Bay. Through the years Ms.Kasimakis has become a proactive animal lover: networking the calls for help on FACEBOOK, promoting rescue groups at events and becoming a pet foster parent. Even adopting a dog rescued by the Long Island animal welfare and rescue group RSVP INC. and volunteering with them - http://www.rsvpinc.org - The author of “Petscapes” is quoted as saying:  “Never in my wildest dreams would I ever have imagined doing any of this. The future for these pets can change if we help, if we care, if we just do one little thing. It is a “spit in the ocean” in time for us. It is the difference between life and death to these unwanted abandoned family pets. Each and every one of you reading this can change something in the next moment, the next hour, next day.”
