NCPD Officers Use New “Dynamic Entry Breaching Sledge" to Enter Burning Seaford Home

The Nassau County Police Department Public Information Office reports the details of a Fire that occurred in Seaford.
 
According to police, units responded to a residence on Rutherford Drive for a house fire. Upon arrival, they noticed smoke coming out of the windows. Police officers used their newly equipped “Dynamic Entry Breaching Sledge” which is assigned to all patrol vehicles to enter the house. 
 
After a thorough search of the residence, it was found to be unoccupied. North Massapequa and Wantagh Fire Departments responded to the scene to extinguish the fire. A police officer was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
