Authorities Investigating Shooting Death of Man in Coram

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of man in Coram early on the morning of Sunday, September 1.
 
Sixth Precinct officers responded to the intersection of Beach Lane and Judith Drive at 12:37 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting shots fired. When officers arrived, they located Jaifield Gordon shot inside a 2013 BMW that had crashed into a parked car and fence in front of a residence on Beach Drive.
 
Gordon, 18, of Medford, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Detectives believe the shooting occurred on Judith Drive.
