Riverhead / Melville, NY - September 1, 2016 - DEC staff will administer the following CleanSweepNY pesticide and chemical collection events:
October 4-6 in DEC’s Region 6 (Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida and St. Lawrence Counties). The collections will take place in Potsdam, Watertown and Herkimer.
October 25-26 in DEC’s Region 1 (Nassau and Suffolk Counties).The collections will take place in Riverhead and Melville.
CleanSweepNY services are intended for farmers, owners of former farms and commercial pesticide applicators. Pre-registration is required to ensure adequate resources are available at the collection site.
Homeowners are not eligible to participate in CleanSweepNY collection events. Homeowners should contact their local solid waste department for information on household hazardous waste events in their communities.
