Daughter Arrested for Reckless Driving after Two-Car Crash that Killed her Mother

Brookhaven, NY - August 31, 2013 - Jessica Pistolese, was driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu westbound on Montauk Highway, when her vehicle struck a 2011 Chrysler 300, being driven by Aide Marichal at approximately 3:55 p.m. Marichal was traveling southbound on Horseblock Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Montauk Highway when she was struck by Pistolese.

Pistolese’s mother, Judith Rivera, 71, of East Patchogue, was in the front passenger seat and was pronounced dead by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.  Pistolese, 38, of Mastic and Marichal, 51, of Mastic were both transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for non-life threatening injuries and have since been released.

Pistolese was charged with Reckless Driving. She was released on bail and given a Desk Appearance Ticket. She is scheduled to be arraigned November 4. Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives are continuing the investigation.
