UPDATE: Nassau County Police Reports Arrest Made In Connection With Human Remains Discovered in East Meadow

UPDATE - August 30, 2018 - Defendant Carlos Benitez-Hernandez, 21, of Uniondale, was arrested in connection with the below incident. He is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned Thursday, August 30, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

East Meadow, NY - August 30, 2018 - Homicide Squad is conducting an investigation in the vicinity of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard in East Meadow.
 
According to detectives, while working jointly with Homeland Security and the DEA, information was received that human remains may be found in a Nassau County owned sump on the southwest side of Glenn Curtiss Boulevard. During this investigation human remains were discovered. The remains appear to be from a male in his late teens. This investigation is ongoing.
