Two Men Shot on Peach Street in Central Islip

Central Islip, NY - August 28, 2013 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating the shooting of two men in Central Islip today.
 
Third Precinct officers responded to Peach Street after several 911 callers reported hearing shots fired at 12:56 p.m.  When officers arrived, they found Keith Vann, 24, of Central Islip, shot in the leg and torso, and James Anderson, 24, of Central Islip, shot in the lower leg.  Vann and Anderson were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
 
A black male driving a gold or tan SUV was seen driving away from the scene shortly after the shooting.
 
The investigation is continuing.  Detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential.
