Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a fatal auto accident involving a pedestrian that occurred in Bethpage.

 

According to detectives, a pedestrian was traveling westbound on Maple Avenue at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and was involved in a collision with a 2016 Honda CRV that was heading northbound on Stewart Avenue. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by a staff physician.

 

A brake and safety inspection was conducted and the vehicle was then released to the operator. The investigation is ongoing.
