Bellport Man Arrested For Sex Trafficking and Narcotics Sales, Officials Report

Bellport, NY - August 28, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a Bellport man for sex trafficking and narcotics sales on Monday, August 27, 2018.
 
Following a five-month investigation by the Narcotics Section and the Human Trafficking Unit, detectives determined Rakeem Holland was selling narcotics and also provided narcotics to women to act as prostitutes and forced females to engage in prostitution to repay debts. Holland, who police were looking for in connection to these crimes, was located after a hit-and-run crash in Bellport in which he was a passenger.
 
Holland, 27, was arrested and charged with two counts of Sex Trafficking: Provide Narcotics, two counts of Sex Trafficking: Repay a Debt, Promoting Prostitution 3rd Degree, two counts of Promoting Prostitution 4th Degree and four counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree. Holland was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct for arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
