Taco Tuesday Pick: Chico’s Tex Mex Opens in East Setauket

Picante Tex Mex food truck has parked itself in a new place. A location in East Setauket in what is a growing trend in food trucks that become brick-and-mortar restaurants. Now known as Chico’s Tex Mex, the food trucks operated in Port Jefferson, Saint James, and Huntington until recently.

 

Apps include standards like rice and beans ($3.00) and guac and chips ($4.99) but also includes waffle fries and queso ($3.99). The rest of the menu includes all the standard Mexican fare like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and chimichangas along with Mexican pizza, salad bowls and burrito bowls. Dessert includes churros ($2.50) and fried ice cream ($5).

Reviews for the new restaurant are almost all positive on Yelp.

 

“The food here is awesome!  Tacos are fantastic - especially the crunchy ground beef and the shrimp,” said Allison W. of Stony Brook. “Will definitely be a go to place for us.”
