Curran Announces Nassau County 5K/10K Walk and Run to Support Veterans

East Meadow, NY - August 24, 2018 - Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, in partnership with the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency and JP Morgan Chase, announced a 5K/10K Walk and Run for Veterans this Saturday, August 25th from 9:00am-2:00pm at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
 
“My administration is committed to serving our veterans and ensuring resources are provided to them once they return home from service,” said County Executive Curran. “I thank JP Morgan Chase for partnering with Nassau County for this event and helping to provide much needed assistance to our local veterans, including employment, food, clothing and other living expenses.”
 
The 5K/10K Veterans Walk & Run 2018 will help disadvantaged veterans with much needed assistance to include housing, suicide prevention and help sponsor the bi-annual stand down event. All donations and race proceeds will assist local veterans. Awards will be presented for the fastest runners of the 5K and 10K races. Donations will be accepted in place of walking or running.
 
Interested participants can pre-register online at www.NassauVetsRun.com. Race Day Registration will be permitted on the day of the event from 7:00am-8:45am. The cost of race entry is $30.00 and will provide direct support for local veterans in the community.
