Officials: New Hampshire Man Arrested in Jericho for Driving Drunk, Gun Possession

Jericho, NY - August 22, 2018 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Rochester, New Hampshire man for Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 1:48 a.m. in Jericho.
 
According to police, Mark Harmon, 43, of Rochester, New Hampshire, was observed violating New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law; Fail to Stay in Single Lane, while driving eastbound on I-495 at exit 41N. The officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver was observed to have glassy blood shot eyes with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. 
 
Upon further investigation, a handgun, along with two magazines, was recovered from the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Defendant, Mark Harmon was charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Driving While Intoxicated and New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law; Fail to Stay in Single Lane and Improper Turn/Fail to Signal. He was arraigned today, August 21, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
