Three Nabbed by NCPD After Allegedly Mugging Victim Outside West Hempstead Deli

West Hempstead, NY - August 22, 2017 - The Fifth Squad reports the Arrest of three (3) individuals for Robbery that occurred on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 2:35 am in West Hempstead.
According to detectives, a 21 year old male victim exited the Cherry Valley Deli located at 168 Hempstead Turnpike when he realized he left his bag inside the deli, which contained assorted clothing and his IPhone 7. As the victim was walking back to the deli he noticed a male exiting the store with his bag.  
The subject then entered the passenger side of a black SUV. The victim confronted the subject and as he tried to retrieve his property, the driver of the SUV and another passenger started punching the victim about the body. The victim was able to pull the bag out of the vehicle. The three (3) subjects then exited the automobile and continued being the victim about the body taking an undetermined amount of US currency from his pant pocket.  
The subjects then fled the scene in the SUV. The victim refused medical assistance. 
After an investigation by detectives, defendant George Jordan-Gonzales, 25, of Levittown was placed under arrest on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 8:49 pm in West Hempstead. Defendants Karina Colato, 22, of Levittown (the driver) and Aaron Moodie, 17, of Hicksville surrendered to the Nassau County Police Department on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10:30 pm.
The defendants are being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
