New York, NY - August 21, 2014 - The New York Lottery will give away a variety of exciting prizes each day at the Great New York State Fair this year, including New-York-centric trips that showcase what our state has to offer.

The Lottery is giving away various prizes to players who complete and bring the entry form available on the back of any $10 Lottery draw game purchased at the State Fair and at thousands of Lottery retailers across upstate New York. In addition to scratch-off tickets and Lottery subscriptions, this year’s daily drawings will include items that highlight the state’s wine industry and various recreational offerings.

“This year, we’re showcasing the best of what New York State has to offer, including trips to our beautiful state parks, exciting fishing excursions and great wine tastings,” said Gardner Gurney, Acting Director of the Division of the Lottery. “These packages will be very sought after by attendees at the Great New York State Fair and we urge attendees to enter to win each day.”

New York Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education. It takes into account both a school district’s size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of Lottery school funding.
