Roosevelt, NY - August 21, 2018 - Senators John Brooks and Jamaal Bailey today joined with the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce to host a ‘Roosevelt Small Business Roundtable’ with dozens of Roosevelt small businesses. “Empowering more Long Island residents and entrepreneurs to unleash their potentials and succeed in business is one of my top priorities,” Senator John Brooks said. “For too long, state and local government has failed to adequately support minority and women-owned businesses, and that needs to be corrected. I thank Senator Jamaal Bailey for joining me at today’s Roosevelt Small Business Roundtable and to the Chamber of Commerce for helping to organize this event. I will continue to fight for essential state aid and investment so more Long Islanders are able to start small businesses and prosper.”

Senator Jamaal Bailey said, “It is a pleasure to join with Senator Brooks in supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs. I want to thank the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce for hosting us and for working with us to coordinate this round-table discussion. I hope this event helps inspire more members of the community to consider starting small businesses and reaching out to leaders like Senator John Brooks and the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce for support.”

John F. Boyd Sr., President of the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce, said, “It's not often that we have the opportunity to meet with our NYS Senator in our community of Roosevelt. After facing the economic hardships in our community from the leadership from our past, my Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce members and I have work very hard over the last several of years to change that situation and to be able to host this kind of event here! As the President of the Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce, my members and I are very pleased that Senator John E.
