Ice Cream and Cereal Bar Opens in Patchogue

Written by Lon Cohen  |  19. August 2020

Ice cream infused with cereal? Yes, please.

That’s what people are saying in Patchogue at the newest concept in dessert (or is it breakfast?). Cloud Nine ice cream and cereal bar opened in July in the village of Patchogue and have been garnering rave reviews online for bringing this food fusion concept to Suffolk County.

“Places like these are hard to come by when we don't live close by the city... Obviously with the COVID-19 I cannot go to the city to discover some treat-dealers but instead we went for Cloud 9 and we were not disappointed,” said Yağmur K. of Stony Brook on Yelp. “Such a cute little place with some great ice cream-cereal combinations.”

In an interview with Patch, the owners, Lexi Balunas and Matt Pesko, said they were in fact inspired by a similar shop in New York City that they discovered two years ago.

Patrons get to pick their own flavors by combining any cereal they want with soft serve vanilla ice cream. Then you can choose from a variety of toppings. The delectable delights are served in a cup, cone, milkshake or (ready for this?) a donut ice cream sandwich.

You can get an ice cream swirl with 2 cereals, a topping and one drizzle on a cone for $7. The same concoction in a milkshake costs $8. A bowl of cereal costs $6. They have 18 cereals to choose from on the menu including Captain Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Apple Jacks, Fruity Pebbles, and Lucky Charms.
