SPCA Offering Reward for Info Regarding Abandoned Pet Rabbits in Mastic Beach

The Suffolk County SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for abandoning 2 domestic rabbits on Alder Drive in Mastic Beach NY.
 
On August 14, 2019 a complaint was called in to the SCSPCA office reporting that 2 bunnies were left on a driveway in a cage on August 12, 2019. The rabbits did not appear to be in distress and were left with food and water. A neighbor, who found the rabbits, immediately took them into another neighbor's home where they were being provided with necessary care. The rabbits have been transported to an rabbit rescue group.
 
Abandonment of an animal is a crime. Suffolk County SPCA detectives have been investigating and  canvassing the area for witnesses of this abandonment. An animal is defined as every living creature except a human being. Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk County SPCA 631-382-7722.
