Man Shot Outside Bay Shore Bar During Robbery Attempt, According to Police

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that took place outside a Bay Shore bar on Saturday, August 17.
 
A 24-year-old Bay Shore man was standing outside C.J. Bond’s Sports Bar, located at 1381 Brentwood Rd., when he was approached by a man wearing a red and purple ski mask and carrying a handgun at approximately 2 a.m. The suspect struck the victim in the head with the gun and demanded money.
 
After the victim gave up his wallet, the suspect shot him once in the leg and fled the scene. Friends of the victim transported him to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
