Mangano Announces 11th Annual International Music Competition

Mineola, NY - August 17, 2015 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that the Long Island Conservatory of Music and the LISMA Foundation will host the 11th Annual International Music Competition on August 20th – 22nd at the Long Island Conservatory, with an Award Ceremony and Winner’s Concert held on August 22nd at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. This competition is open to the public.

Co-sponsored by Nassau County, the event will feature talented young musicians from around the world competing in areas of piano, violin/viola, cello, and wind/brass. The Winner’s Concert and Awards Ceremony will feature performances by first place winners from each category.

“For the past 11 years, the LISMA Foundation has been searching for incredibly talented youth in the performing arts. Nassau County is pleased to host this music competition and I wish all of the participants the best of luck in the competition. I look forward to an exciting evening of music on August 22nd,” said County Executive Mangano.

Competition winners will receive prizes which are made possible through sponsorship by the LISMA Foundation, Americana Manhasset, Flushing Bank, Woori America Bank, BBCN, Shake-N-Go, Absolute NY and the Korea Times.
