Miller Place, NY - August 17, 2015 - On Sunday, August 16th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Miller Place-Mt. Sinai Historical Society’s 8th Annual Car Show. In conjunction with the Long Island Street Rod Association, the Historical Society hosted the car show to raise money for the restoration and preservation of the William Miller House. There were many unique cars on display, as well as tours of the Miller House, music, raffles, and a meet and greet with retired racing greyhounds.
“Landmarks like the William Miller House are meaningful representations of the culture and history here in Suffolk County,” said Legislator Anker. “It is so important for us to come together as a community in order to preserve these historical sites.”
The Miller Place-Mt. Sinai Historical Society is working to raise funds to repair the roof of the William Miller House. To find out more information about the historical society and how to make a contribution to this historical site, please visit here.
