Queens, NY - August 16, 2018 - "Crazy Rich Asians" lead actor Henry Golding unveiled his new film at the College Point Multiplex Cinema on Monday, August 13. The film releases in theaters on August 15 across the country. The new movie has made headlines for a very important factoid; it is the first with an all-Asian cast in 25 years (since The Joy Luck Club).

Golding, an up-and-coming lead actor, spoke to the media about the films popularity as well as the importance of its message.

"The movie is for everybody, it's touted as the first Asian contemporary piece in 25 years, but essentially it's a phenomenal movie and that's what people should take away from it," said Golding.

When asked about the importance of an all-Asian cast and the continuing of racial diversity amongst lead roles, Golding expressed that the film was great progress.

"I think it's a step in the right direction, it's taken this long and taken far too long," he said. "So hopefully it continues the trend of color-blind leads where Asian young actresses can play these beautiful roles...it should be that way, the story should take precedence."

The film centers around an Asian-American woman meeting her boyfriend's extraordinarily rich family in Singapore, which until then was unknown to her. The film features Golding as well as Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, and Ken Jeong among others.
