Police Arrest Westbury Man for Attempted Murder

Westbury, NY - August 15, 2016 - Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an attempted murder that occurred in Westbury on Sunday, 08/14/16 at 11:30 A.M.

According to detectives, Andre Danzy, 40, of Westbury, while involved in a verbal argument with a female victim, 20, at his residence, took a handgun and shot her in the chest.  Details involving the argument are not available at this time.  The weapon was recovered.

The victim was transported by private auto to a local hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Third Squad detectives located Danzy a short time later on Hempstead Tpke, where he was placed under arrest.  He is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Attempt), Criminal Use Firearm 1st Degree, Criminal Possession Weapon 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Monday, 08/15/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
