Hampton Bays, NY - August 16, 2016 - Monday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m., the Hampton Bays Civic Association (HBCA) will hold its monthly meeting at the Southampton Town Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue, across from the Post Office. Everyone is welcome.

For this meeting, the Board of the Hampton Bays Civic Association invited Dr. Marc Fasanella, a member of their board, and visiting professor of Ecological Art, Architecture, and Design in the Sustainability Studies Program of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at Stony Brook University.

Dr. Fasanella plans to introduce four of his interns, who have worked for his non-profit Ecological Culture Initiative all summer, to present numerous consumer choices from which residents can select at least 10 action items they can do, so their efforts contribute to healing troubled waters, and cleaning toxic land by restoring the local ecosystem.

There will be suggestions for simple choices one can make while running a household and shopping, suggestions for gardening and the use of landscape materials and also suggestions for materials and strategies when remodeling. Every resident should be able to compile a list of at least 10 action items, which will contribute to restoring our ecosystem! Source lists and suggestion lists will be available for distribution.
