SCPD Crime Alert: Woman Wanted for Setauket Hit & Run

Setauket, NY - August 11th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the woman who was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Setauket earlier this month.

A woman was driving a 2014 Kia eastbound on Route 347, just east of Pond Path, when her vehicle was struck by a white Mercedes SUV on August 1, 2014 at approximately 9:05 p.m. Both vehicles pulled into a nearby gas station and then the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene prior to police arrival. The Mercedes, driven by a white woman with long, brown hair and a tattoo on her right ankle, was bearing a stolen New York license plate, AFN 4311, and was damaged on the driver’s side.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
