Crime Report: Five Teens Arrested for Robbery; Man Arrested for Weapons Possesion after ShotSpotter Notification

Five Teens Arrested for Robbery
Suffolk County Police arrested five teens after they allegedly assaulted and robbed a man outside of an ATM early Thursday morning.

According to police, a 22-year-old man was leaving the Chase Bank on Station Road in Bellport after making a withdrawal when he was assaulted by the five teens. They stole his wallet and fled the scene.

After responding to the incident, police found and arrested two of the suspects. 18-year-old Dequan Holly of Bellport and 18-year-old James Hollman of East Patchogue were arrested on Thursday.

After investigating the incident, police found out that 18-year-old Anthony Lafranca of Bellport, 18-year-old Talshawne Gamble of East Patchogue, and 16-year-old Patrick Hartnet of Bellport were involved in the robbery as well.

All five suspects are being charged with 2nd Degree Robbery and were arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip.

Man Arrested for Weapons Possesion after ShotSpotter Notification
Suffolk County Police made an arrest on Saturday following a ShotSpotter notification that a gunshot had been fired near Hoffman Avenue in Bellport at 4:42 a.m.

Officers Christopher Quitoni and Michael Robertson were dispatched to the area. The officers found the suspect, Kevin Crenshaw, along with another individual walking towards Crenshaw’s house, which is located on Hoffman Avenue.

Crenshaw was in possession of a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Police arrested 33-year-old Crenshaw, who is currently on parole.

Crenshaw is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
