Hempstead Woman Arrested for Stabbing Sister's Dog in Face and Back, According to Police

Hempstead, NY - August 9, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Hempstead woman for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals that occurred on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 9:30 A.M. in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, the defendant Stephanie Penado, 26, did stab her sisters dog several times with a knife on his face and back because she was upset that the dog bit her 1 year old son. The dog is being treated at North Shore Animal League for her injuries.
 
Defendant Stephanie Penado is charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. She will be arraigned on Wednesday, August 09, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
