Brookhaven IDA Closes on Next Phase of Ronkonkoma Hub Project

Written by Chris Boyle  |  12. August 2021

The Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA) announced the closing of a benefits package that will allow for the next phase of the Ronkonkoma Hub Development project.

“The IDA is excited to continue playing a key role in transforming Suffolk County,” said IDA Chairman Frederick C. Braun. “The Ronkonkoma HUB project is pivotal to the growth of our region, and without assistance from the IDA it would not have gone forward.”

The benefits will allow Hawkins Ave. Development to take another step closer to developing four mixed-use multifamily residential buildings, consisting of approximately 388 residential units on a 7.6-acre parcel. The project also includes retail space, surface and garage parking, and commercial space.

“Our goal is to assist companies that seek to improve Brookhaven,” said Braun. “This project will create jobs, increase the Town’s tax base and create much-needed housing.”

“This is an incredible investment in our community, and the IDA recognizes the importance of these projects,” said Braun. “This is an exciting time for the Town.”
