33-Year-Old Man Rescued from Waters in Long Beach

Long Beach, NY - August 8, 2016 - The Marine Bureau reports the details of a water rescue that occurred on Monday, August 08, 2016 at 11:45 a.m. in Long Beach.

According to police, a 33 year old male from Hempstead, attempted to swim across Reynolds Channel under the Long Beach Bridge. The swimmer became tired and began to struggle in the water. Marine 6 responded with three officers aboard and were able to rescue the man. The crew conducted a medical evaluation while transporting him to a local hospital where he refused any further medical attention.
