Elmont Man Arrested for Menacing Victim with Handgun

Elmont, NY - August 8, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Elmont man for Menacing on August 7, 2014 at 10:35pm in Elmont.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Michael A. Cano, 23, of 65 Butler Boulevard did menace an acquaintance by pointing a silver handgun at the twenty-three year old male victim on August 7, 2014 at approximately 11:30am.  Officers observed the defendant in his vehicle at the intersection of Butler Boulevard and Dover Street in Elmont and placed him under arrest at 10:35pm.  On August 8, 2014 at 6:15am,  Detectives executed a search warrant for the defendants residence and recovered a stolen unloaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun from New York City, a Ruger Rifle, three bags of a substance believed to be marijuana and US currency. 
 
Defendant Michael A. Cano is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Sale of Marijuana, Menacing and Criminal Possession of Marijuana.  He will be arraigned on August 9, 2014 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
