Hamptons, NY - August 1, 2016 - For the first time, The Young@Art Program is coming to The East End starting in August. The program is designed to give young people the opportunity and ability to be artistically creative anywhere using novel and easy to use online software. The software will be introduced to tweens (8 to 12-years old) at free art sessions at a number of East End organizations and locations including a number of Suffolk Cooperative libraries (Southold, Aug. 15; Bridgehampton, TBD ), The SoFo Natural History Museum (Aug. 21), and The Southampton Cultural Center (Aug. 25). Also, like the other libraries, The Montauk Library is making the software accessible on its public computers for tweens.

The software currently comes in two flavors: Sound2Paint.com and Touch2Paint.com which allow young people to use sound and touch to create exciting, fun and dynamic paintings. Users are encouraged to “Experiment and Explore” to create artworks by changing color, shape, form and content. And they will be able to share their creations with family and friends from within the program and through popular social media platforms.

According to Dr. Tom Riedl, creator of the program and founder of VisiSound Technologies, “Our purpose is to give young people better alternatives online and to stir an interest in being artistically creative in positive ways and have fun doing so. They don't have to have any art experience or special talent; they can each create artworks that are uniquely theirs that they will be proud to show.” Dr. Riedl continues, ”We are grateful to the organizations that are supporting the program and offering young people this opportunity – we sincerely believe all will benefit from it.”

Tweens are invited to attend and participate at any of the locations. (For the art sessions, they must be signed-up by a parent or adult.) Visit www.Sound2Paint.com to learn more about the software, to see the schedule of events and to sign-up.
